The #YouTubeBlack Voices Fund

Last year, we launched the #YouTubeBlack Voices Fund, a multi-year commitment dedicated to spotlighting and growing Black creators and music on our platform, by giving them access to resources to help them thrive on YouTube.

Applications are open for our next class of #YouTubeBlack Voices Fund grantees.

We’re now accepting applications for our class of 2022 grantees, and we’d love for you to apply. Read on for more info, and to submit your application today.

In our first year, we’ve welcomed 133 grantees hailing from the United States, Kenya, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Australia, South Africa, and Nigeria. This incredible group includes musicians, beauty entrepreneurs, comedians, activists, poets, personal trainers, teachers, parents, photographers, and more.

If you identify as a Black creator, artist, or songwriter/producer, looking to further build your voice on YouTube and make an impact, we’d love for you to apply.

If selected, you’ll receive resources including:

Dedicated support from a YouTube Partner Manager

Seed funding invested into the development of your content

Workshops and masterclasses throughout the year focused on cultivating new content ideas, video production skills, wellbeing, and more

Note: A YouTube Creator is someone who predominantly creates original content for YouTube. An Artist is someone who predominantly releases commercial music as a releasing Artist. A Songwriter/Producer is someone whose work predominantly results in commercial releases for other Artists.

FAQ

  • Am I eligible to participate?

    If you identify as Black, are a member of the YouTube Partner Program (creators only), and are located in any of our eligible markets, then we’d love for you to apply.

  • Which markets is this grant available in?

    Grants are currently being offered to Black creators, artists, and songwriters/producers in the following countries: Australia (Artists & Songwriters/Producers only), Brazil, Canada, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States. While the grant is not being offered in other markets at this time, we encourage creators to visit our youtube.com/creators and artists and songwriters/producers to visit artists.youtube.com to learn about all the resources currently available to you.

  • When will I hear if I have been selected, and how will you communicate it?

    We hope to inform our selected Class of 2022 by no later than October, and will send out notifications to all applicants using the email address provided in the application. If you are not selected for funding, don’t fret! We’ll have other opportunities to connect with us, your peers, receive training, and more. Additionally, this is a multi-year program, so there will be more opportunities to receive grants in years to come.

  • Who controls the data I submitted?

    If you submitted application data, it will be controlled by Google LLC and subject to the Google Privacy Policy. However, your application data will be used solely for the purposes to which you agreed.

  • How long is my data kept on file?

    We will keep the application information you provided for no longer than 3 months from the date of collection, unless you are awarded funding or choose to hear more about various programs, events, campaigns, and promotions related to the Fund, in which case data will be retained for as long as necessary to your participation.

  • How can I make changes to my submission?
