How Users Learn on YouTube

YouTube attracts an array of learners looking for different learning experiences.

People choose to learn on YouTube because it’s the world’s largest library of content on topics of all kinds from coding to chemistry. Users enjoy the learning experience on YouTube as it provides the opportunity to uncover creators and communities that inspire and motivate them, dive deep into the content of their choice, and continue learning at their own pace.

Across our learning-focused offerings and tools, we support users' learning journeys by making the learning experience active, reinforcing learning on the platform, providing feedback on how they’re progressing, and more.

How YouTube is a Tool for Teachers

For teachers, YouTube is a trusted and effective education tool inside and outside the classroom.

Teachers use YouTube to complement traditional lesson plans with effective and engaging learning videos and develop customized lesson plans for students who need additional time and focus to build understanding.

Player for Education

YouTube’s Player for Education is a distraction-free YouTube embedded player that improves the way YouTube shows videos inside educational tools, so students and educators can go further together. It is designed for learners, continues to support student privacy, and allows educators the ability to assign YouTube videos while limiting student’s direct access to the platform.

How YouTube’s Partnerships Strengthen Learning

YouTube partners with experts in learning to deliver high-impact learning experiences for our users. Through our partnerships efforts we look to have global coverage which is why we continue to curate partnership opportunities that span across the globe. For example:

We partner with UNESCO to enhance access to quality education content across Latin America. The partnership focuses on establishing dedicated YouTube channels that offer curated content which align with an individual country’s national curriculum for Middle and High School. It also provides teachers with valuable resources and support materials, empowering them to seamlessly integrate these curated videos into their lesson plans and create more engaging learning experiences.
