Santa's reindeer match the disciples perfectly, even with St. Paul being Rudolph in this reading and illustration for my blog at Unicorn Letters of the same name. It explores the fact that the Roman holiday of Saturnalia was expropriated by the Christian Church and how Santa Claus now expresses the Golden Rule better that the religions that have loss their way. Santa's teachings are a simplistic, "Ho, Ho, Ho" and kids believe he is real because their parent tell them so, but yet have doubts about Jesus. Also if Jesus is Santa Claus, then Mary Magdalene is Mrs. Claus. Some of the facts on the disciples are from the Pesher of Christ. Illustrations from T'was the Night Before Christmas by Clement Moore 1912.
