Sheltered instruction was designed to help English language learners to learn English as well as academic content. Sheltered content instruction utilizes distinct instructional techniques to provide support to help English learners understand demanding lesson content. Not only do teachers plan for objectives that correspond to grade-level standards but they also provide the language objectives necessary for their English learners to express their ideas.
