I Wish You Would - Billy Boy Arnold [Chicago, Illinois] - 1955 - "Hammond, John Jr. [New York] would do the BEST version in 1966 with The Ugly Ducklings [Toronto (Yorkville), Canada]-1967 close behind. Arnold signed a solo recording contract with Vee-Jay Records, recording the originals of "I Wish You Would" and "I Ain't Got You". Both were later covered by The Yardbirds-1964,." - Blowin' & Suckin' [import] (Proper Records UK) (disc 2 Just Whaling)-2008.

NOTE: This compilation of various artists features notable harmonica works.

LYRICS: I found that most sites didn't present them correctly and I'm setting the record straight on this 1955 song:

Early in the morning about the break of day
That's my baby went away
Crying and pleading won't do no good
Come back baby I wish you would
love you baby I can't help myself
I won't mistreat you for no one else
A hugging and kissing late at night
made's your love baby feel just right
Tell me now baby what you trying to do
You trying to love me and some other man too

Harmonica interlude.

Staying out drinking all night long
Drove my baby away from home
Please pretty baby give me one more chance
You know I love you wanna be your man
Crying and pleading ain't doing no good
Come back baby I wish you would
