As the industry leader in support of music educators, Yamaha Band and Orchestral with Sr. Director of Music Education Marcia Neel, have prepared a video and guide for teachers who want to learn how to bring new benefits their music program.
The federal government passed the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) in December 2015, which has specifically named music education as part of a “well-rounded education”. This means that in many cases federal (and eventually state) funds that previously were only earmarked for “core subjects” can now be used for music education. Since the law’s passing Yamaha has found that many music educators have very little, if any, knowledge about how ESSA can help their program. The Yamaha ESSA Video and Guide exists to help spread word about the benefits of this legislation, bringing more funding to expand music to more students. Please share!
