Ulele, the new concept from the Gonzmart Family of Restaurants, is featured on “Emeril’s Florida” in this episode hosted by the celebrity chef.
Richard Gonzmart, fourth generation co-owner and president of the Columbia Restaurant Group, spoke with Emeril Lagasse about his new Tampa restaurant that serves unique foods and spirits by fusing elements from a rich variety of Native American and multicultural influences, including those of European explorers.

The program highlights Florida through the eyes of Emeril with a focus on food, cooking, events and activities around the state. Ulele is named for the daughter of a legendary Native American chief. The restaurant and Ulele Spring Brewery is on the Hillsborough River in Tampa Heights, serving unique foods and spirits by fusing elements from a rich variety of Native American and multicultural influences, including those of European explorers. The menu features items indigenous to this area’s waters and farms. The restaurant is open daily, serving lunch and dinner.
The Columbia Restaurant was founded in 1905 and is Florida’s Oldest RestaurantSM. Locations include the flagship restaurant in Tampa’s Historic Ybor City. Additional locations include St. Armands Circle in Sarasota, the Historic District in St. Augustine, Sand Key on Clearwater Beach, Central Florida's town of Celebration, the Columbia Cafe on the Riverwalk in Tampa and the Columbia Restaurant Cafe at Tampa International Airport. All Columbia locations are owned and operated by 4th and 5th generation members of the founding family; except for Columbia Restaurant Cafe at Tampa International Airport, which is operated in partnership with HMSHost.
