The Peninsula Pilots will miss their longtime batboy, inspirational teammate and friend Kevin Eadie. Kevin, who recently completed his seventh season with the team slid home early after an unbelievably courageous lifelong battle with a rare and cruel disease known as Niemann-Pick Type C. His heartbreaking departure came less than two months shy of his 15th birthday.
Throughout his time with the Pilots, the disease gradually and torturously stripped Kevin of his ability to walk and talk, but never eroded his infectious spirit. His presence around the team and its fans was always uplifting and seemed to bring out the best in those that were lucky enough to be a part of his life. The team was never as special before he arrived. He will be sorely missed as we seek to carry his spirit forward.
