Protesters rallied at the Ron Tonkin Chevrolet dealership on Monday, June 9th in Portland Oregon in solidarity with an international day of organizing against General Motors. This rally was in support of injured Colombian former employees who have now become activists, and in response to the factory recall due to many fatal accidents stemming from a faulty ignition switch in new vehicles. GM had first known about the issue in 1999, and the numbers of consumers affected has grown until recently in 2014 when the new company CEO addressed the public acknowledging the ignorance and vowing to have the issues fully investigated.
