Tim Holmes is a sculptor/ philosopher/ filmmaker creating art for social evolution. He was the first American artist ever exhibited solo in the world's largest art museum, the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, Russia, where his sculptures remain on permanent exhibit. He designed many international peace awards such as the UN Women's Peace Prize and Freedom to Create Award. His work has gained notice among some of the world's peacemakers, from the Chinese dissident students of Tiananmen Square to the Physicians for Social Responsibility. President Jimmy Carter, President Vaclav Havel, and Coretta Scott King are among Holmes' best-known collectors.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
