RJ's mom contacted me about a month ago because her son needed help. Even prior to moving here from out-of-state, RJ was having difficulty with his reading. Although he's in 5th grade, his teacher found that he was reading at a 1st grade level.
RJ's mom had heard that I have a unique way of working with dyslexic readers - reading upside-down - and she remembered that when RJ first started school he read by holding his book upside down - but his teacher said that holding the book that way was "unacceptable".
Little did RJ's well-meaning teacher realize that she was creating a major problem - not avoiding one.
Watch him read this level 5.5 text in the way that's best for him - inverted.
