We met up with Ross Logsdon, an owner, and manager at Premier Street Rod in Lake Havasu City, AZ. They are only one of a handful of shops licensed by GM to build reproduction cabs of some of the most popular Chevy trucks of the ’40s and ’50s, but they modify and restore vehicles from all walks of life.
This year, Ross and his team are pulling out all the stops with a classic 1957 Chevy pickup build. With numerous subtle modifications that enhance the looks of the truck, he wants it to maintain a pro-touring look and feel. Under the hood is a 650-hp supercharged 6.2L V8, the same engine that debuted in the 2015 Z06. And a Wilwood disc brake setup keeps the LT4 in check.
This is their fourth year competing in Battle of the Builders coming off with a win from last year with Chevrolet SEMA Truck of the Year. Each consecutive year has pushed their builds to another level and Ross doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon.
The SEMA Battle of the Builders competition shines the spotlight on the amazing talents and craftsmanship of builders who have already proven themselves by being a part of the premier automotive trade event in the world. It allows enthusiasts and fans a chance to learn the stories behind the builds, get to know the builders and be inspired along the way.
