Two years ago this weekend, the banlieues or suburbs of Paris were set alight with rioting.

On this, the second anniversary, Al Jazeera has met one young man who took to the streets.

But there's been little change for Mohamed Tiba in the intervening 24 months.

He's still unemployed, living in squalor and lacking hope for the future. Here's his story.

At Al Jazeera English, we focus on people and events that affect people's lives. We bring topics to light that often go under-reported, listening to all sides of the story and giving a 'voice to the voiceless.'
