This month's webinar focused on a very important aspect of this year's election and all elections to come- the youth vote. Nearly half of the American Indian and Alaska Native population - 42% - is under the age of 24; in coming years Native communities will have a high number of first time voters. It is crucial to educate and register our young populations to strengthen the Native Vote. 2012 is an important election year and an opportune time to engage youth and educate them about voting rights and civic responsibility.

The webinar covered:

- The new Native Vote supplement to Rock the Vote's "Democracy Day" Class- The class is a one-class-period program that uses video, a classroom discussion and a mock election to teach young people the skills to navigate the elections process and engage as active citizens. - Rock the Native Vote Youth Week- September 24-28th, 2012
