York Creek Red Angus

York Creek Red Angus is a father-son red angus seedstock operation in Northeastern Nebraska, approximately 35 miles north of Omaha.

York Creek Red Angus was started in 1997 with the purchase of 11 heifers and a bull from the Petersen Red Angus herd in Purdum, Nebraska. Since then our herd has grown to about 100+ head of purebred cows, and approximately 25 commercial cows. We strive to produce moderate framed cattle that are functional and efficient in production. We place a lot of emphasis on the cow’s milking ability, as well as longevity.

We run our cows on grass in the summer, and then cornstalks in the fall and winter until they are brought in to the home farm for calving. We use embryo transfer and synchronized estrus breeding to maximize genetic potential in the offspring.

Bulls and replacement heifers are for sale in the spring by private treaty, and bred heifers in the fall. We market them through the Midwest Messenger as well as the Red Angus Association Stockyards.
