Following the example set by the automotive industry, shortly before the market launch Wilkhahn tested its latest product thoroughly across the world. With a camera in their hand, employees from nine different countries and in nine very different climates took IN onto the streets to invite people to try it out. And our Swiss colleagues went a step further. They picked up their 3D chair and took it to the top of a mountain. You can see the result of this unusual and amusing activity for yourself here.
Wilkhahn has devoted decades to developing office chairs that encourage our natural desire to keep our bodies moving and healthy. Chairs that are exceptional for their ease of use and superb design.
Leading experts in health and sports science now confirm that traditional ergonomics stipulating correct and incorrect sitting postures lead up a blind alley. In fact experts are calling for a pro-active seating concept that offers our bodies all the freedom of movement they are capable of. Our bodies know what is right for them - they just need a chance to prove it. The credo for healthy seating is to inspire but not tire.
After five years' development, ON sets a new milestone. ON is a fluid combination of natural, three-dimensional movement and relaxation that rouses both mind and body
Wilkhahn -- international success driven by consistency and continuity
Unlike virtually any other manufacturer in the furniture industry, Wilkhahn stands worldwide for design made in Germany. It offers high-quality office and conference furniture which are benchmarks for the entire industry. Some 60 years ago, the company made better utility value, long-lasting design and durability its goals. Milestones like classic office chair FS-Line (1980), Confair folding table (1994), office chair Modus (1994) or skid-base chair Aline (2004) have shaped the way offices have evolved. The latest examples of pioneering innovations are the multi-purpose chair Chassis, or three-dimensional ON which leading experts currently consider the world's best office chair.
Wilkhahn also sets new standards in terms of its socio-ecological approach. As winner of the German Environmental Prize, the company has worked with architects Frei Otto and Thomas Herzog and has actively been practising environmental responsibility for over 20 years. In addition to a number of international accolades, office chair ON has also received the Federal Ecodesign Award.
