The Greek government, as part of its efforts to establish people-centred primary health care services, is opening local health units called Topikes Monades Ygias (TOMY), where multidisciplinary teams of family doctors, paediatricians, nurses, health visitors and social workers are providing coordinated care for people in the area, free of charge.

Voices of the Region is a series developed by WHO/Europe in the summer of 2017 to introduce the major subjects on the agenda of the upcoming Regional Committee. Due to its overwhelming success, the series was continued in 2018, with plans for a third series in 2019.
Health ministers and high-level representatives of the 53 Member States of the WHO European Region as well as partner organizations and civil society will take part in the 68th session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe in Rome, Italy, on 17–20 September 2018.
