Weeki Wachee Springs State Park

This channel is operated by the Friends of Weeki Wachee Springs State Park for their literacy program, "Tail Mail". We encourage kids to pick their favorite mermaid and handwrite a letter to them. The mermaids send them an autographed picture and respond via a video posted on this channel. Home of the world-famous Weeki Wachee Mermaids!  Built-in 1947, Weeki Wachee Springs State Park offers a unique glimpse into Florida's tourism history.  A natural attraction, the park offers a riverboat cruise down the pristine waterway of the Weeki Wachee River, animal shows, swimming at Buccaneer Bay (the only spring-fed water park in Florida), and of course, the alluring mermaids of Weeki Wachee.
