The Webber Energy Group is Professor Michael Webber's research group at the University of Texas at Austin. We are part of the Cockrell School of Engineering, the Center for International Energy and Environmental Policy (CIEEP), the Clean Energy Incubator, the Jackson School of Geosciences and the LBJ School of Public Affairs. We analyze energy problems at the intersection of science, engineering, and public policy. Our research at the University of Texas can be organized into four broad topical areas:
1) The Energy-Water Nexus
2) Dynamic Modeling of Complicated Energy Systems (including the smart grid)
3) Alternative Transportation Fuels (electricity, algae and natural gas)
4) The Nexus of Food, Waste and Energy
We are changing the way the world thinks about energy!
