In the 40 years since the Faculty was created, our students, professors, and graduates haven't simply studied environmental challenges. They've put their ideas into action and made a difference across Canada and internationally. With our green focus we have been able to develop smart solutions throughout the world.
The Faculty is home to 1,200 undergraduate students, 200 graduate students, and 110 professors and staff members. Our researchers and students address environmental, urban, and economic issues locally, nationally, and internationally.
Waterloo Engineering is a multi-faceted engineering school with eight academic units, home to about 250 faculty, over 1550 graduate students, and over 5700 undergrads. Over 30,500 alumni have made their mark in industry, academe, and the public sector, in Canada and around the world.
Waterloos undergraduate engineering program is Canadas largest and best. We offer bachelors degrees through 13 programs, in core disciplines like chemical engineering and architecture and in emerging multidisciplinary areas like mechatronics, nanotechnology and management engineering.
Our co-operative education program is world famous. Because of the co-op system, all our undergraduate students alternate between academic and work terms. Our students are leaders and innovators: Engineers without Borders was founded at Waterloo, and student teams consistently take home top honours in national and international competitions.
