A 2.5hr ride on a 125cc scooter into the mountains, to the tallest peak in Thailand, led us to Doi Inthanon National Park. I must say Ashley and I were a little hesitant when we ventured off onto the less traveled roads of Thailand to go see the amazing burial site of the King. When we left Chiang Mai we had no place to stay but were comforted by this small bit of hope that we would find a place with out problems and luckily we found a cool little hut to stay in for the night with in the Park. The next morning at 4am we woke up, rode another 30 minutes (on our scooter) in 37° weather, and then hiked almost 2 miles through the pitch black darkness that was Thailand's jungle with a local Hmong tribesman to see the most spectacular sunrise we have both ever witnessed. After a 4am wake up call and hiking nearly 2 miles we had quite the appetite so on our way down the mountain and back to our hut we passed through a village where the locals had a stretch of the road lined with fresh veggies, fresh fruits, and the amazing smell of Thai bbq. This is where we had breakfast....fresh Pad Thai, 2 Thai coffee's and half a chicken with sticky rice ($3). This was just one of our mini adventures with in our adventurous honeymoon to the land of Thai's!
