  • Hope to Haiti: Housewarming (2013) Play all

Three years ago, after a devastating earthquake ravaged Haiti, Random Acts made a commitment to help them rebuild their homes, communities, and lives. Since then, we've raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Haiti and funneled that money directly into local, sustainable projects serving children in Jacmel. These are children who might not otherwise have a safe place to sleep, clean water and regular meals, health care, a school to go to, families who care for them, or most importantly, hope for their futures.

From 21-29 June 2013, Misha Collins, Jason Manns, Random Acts, 23 volunteers who each raised $5,000, and one lucky raffle winner were the guests at a housewarming celebration for the completed Jacmel Children's Center. We also revisited our friends at the ACFFC, Faith & Love orphanage, and Espoir des Enfants orphanage.

The Hope 2 Haiti project has been completed and Random Acts is not planning more trips to Jacmel, but we are committed to providing ongoing financial support to our Haitian friends as necessary. We also perform many random acts of kindness around the world.

  • Hope to Haiti 2012 Play all

In June 2012, Misha and Random Acts went back to Jacmel, this time accompanied by Colin Ferguson and 23 volunteers who each raised at least $5,000. For returning volunteers, seeing the progress on the community center and being remembered by the children were emotional experiences. First-time volunteers forged new connections with the people we met, helped, and worked alongside in Jacmel. We painted family homes funded by Random Acts, built a water catchment system, painted and helped with construction on an orphanage, helped another orphanage move into a new house, and created a mosaic wall with the children of the ACFFC.
