Carving with my Router this amazing Star Wars inspired design on a pallet coffee table. Backfilled with glow in the dark resin this has turned into a great table and looks amazing when the sun goes down.

The pallets were from a local metal working company, theyre quite unusual being 3x3 and were used for holding large rolls of steel. Took them apart easily enough but unfortunately i didnt record the part where i glue, biscuit and then clamp them together to make the slab.
Print out your deisgn using posteriza, the video for that is here https://youtu.be/hjPr-VDbkyo
glue it together with pva/elmos/school and then stick it down onto your slab and leave to dry properly, any bumps should smooth out as it dries.
I used the very fine 30 degree cnc bits in my router to cut out the design using my ancient makita quarter inch router. I needed to use the airline at 120psi to blast out the sawdust and that took some time and sometimes poking with a knife to help get rid of the impacted sawdust. Once finished i used a 40 grit belt on the sander to rip off the paper and finished it off with an 80 grit.
The legs were made from offcuts of angle iron welded into square brackets. The then had 6mm holes drilled in them countersunk with 10mm so that they can be attached to the timber. i had some old bolts from a cable drum that i bent in half for the legs. I used a basic Ark/Stick welder to join them up using 3.2mm rods. I then rubbed them down with a wire wool brush on the grinder and painted them up with hammerite black paint.
I mixed up Glow in the dark powder with some glitter and marine polyester resin for the infill. Spread it around using a credit card, be aware of any voids. There was a split in the wood that ran down to a biscuit void and that absorbed a lot of the resin which was wasteful. Alpha Industries Glow in the dark Powder - https://goo.gl/SgA4QA
A bit more sanding and then finished using two coats of Osmo hard wax oil applied with a brush.
