Broken Stems latest single “Play It Loud” was written on a weekend trip down past Tijuana to a little house with a group of friends that never turn down the volume. The kind of weekend where time just sort of stands still, the memories are more just fragments of what happened and you come away from it all more bonded together than ever.
This group hails from San Diego and are all close friends of the band. They come to the shows, they come to the pre-parties and they run the after parties.
The song “Play It Loud” is a tribute to this group everywhere they are around the world. They’re the ones at new festivals every weekend, they’re the ones you can count on to be awake partying after the bars close, they’re the ones that are out there truly livin’.
The accompanying video was put together by lead singer Jesse Gawlik mainly using his son’s toys. It’s a high-impact thriller sure to leave crowds on the edge-of-their-seat from start to finish!
This is the second single the trio has released together of 5 new songs they recorded in Joshua Tree in a cabin that a friend let them use. The recording was self-produced and recorded by the band along with the video and is the follow-up to their song Rest Assured which came from the same trip to Joshua Tree.
