The Exploratorium Teacher Institute (TI) has been the professional development home for middle school and high school math and science teachers since 1984. TI has developed more than a thousand Science Snacks—inexpensive, teacher-tested, scientifically accurate activities—that bring the hands-on experiences of the Exploratorium into the classroom.
Science Snacks are inexpensive, teacher-tested, scientifically accurate versions of Exploratorium exhibits and other investigations for the classroom and the curious. Satisfy your curiosity without getting full.
At the Exploratorium, both our exhibits and our Science Snack activities take inspiration from everyday phenomena in the world around us. This collection of videos showcases the larger, hands-on exhibits we have here at the museum in San Francisco.
Featuring past participants from the Exploratorium Summer Institute for Teachers!
Each summer, the Exploratorium Teacher Institute offers a month-long professional development program for middle school and high school science and mathematics teachers. On a typical day, participants spend time playing with exhibits, trying out hands-on classroom activities, sharing teaching strategies, and engaging with staff scientists and other veteran educators.
