    From Wednesday 6–Sunday 17 June 2018, the 65th Sydney Film Festival brings the world’s best new films to Sydney for 12 days and nights of inspiring and entertaining premieres, talks, parties, international director and actor guests and more.

    Over 250 films from the four corners of the globe will screen alongside a public program of free and ticketed talks and parties that will enrich the Festival experience. Over 150 local and international festival guests will attend the Festival, including directors, actors and industry professionals.

  • 2018 SFF - Lexus Australia Short Film Fellowship Play all

    Sydney Film Festival and Lexus Australia are proud to present the 2017 Fellowship winning short films at Lexus Australia Short Film Fellowship Gala Screening, Tuesday 12 June.
    This will be the world premiere screening of the new films produced under the auspices of the $200,000 Lexus Australia Short Film Fellowship. The Fellowship recipients, four exceptionally talented Australian writer-directors - Emily Avila, Goran Stolevski, Lara Köse and Thomas Baricevic - will be at the festival to introduce their work. The winners of the 2018 Lexus Australia Short Film Fellowship will be announced as part of this special Gala screening.

    “The Lexus Australia Short Film Fellowship successfully discovers and supports the next generation of creative talent by allowing emerging filmmakers to explore new ideas and refine their craft,” said Vin Naidoo, Senior Manager, Sales & Marketing, Lexus Australia. “Lexus Australia is very proud to be partnered with this initiative.”

    Launched in 2015, the Fellowship is led by an industry jury, which was chaired by renowned Australian actress Judy Davis in its first year. Presiding over the selection process in 2018 as Jury Chair is renowned Australian actress Marta Dusseldorp. She is joined by Sydney Film Festival Director Nashen Moodley, Lexus Australia’s Vin Naidoo, Australian producer Greer Simpkin (Sweet Country) and President of the Australian Directors’ Guild Samantha Lang.

    Marta Dusseldorp said, “The Lexus Australia Short Film Fellowship for 2018 will give four Australian filmmakers the support to carry on telling their unique stories. I’m thrilled to be a part of this meaningful contribution to great artistic voices, which continue to be as important as ever.”
