Through struggle comes profound greatness, and from this calamity, some of the greatest names of rap and hip-hop emerged. For LA’s God-gifted poet, Strainj Poetry, this might be so, bringing to the foray of modern hip-hop compellingly honest and inspirational rhymes, which speak of the trials and tribulations of growing up in what some might deem a neglected and unwanted side of an otherwise glamorous Los Angeles.
Speaking from the heart rather than his ego, Strainj Poetry is no stranger to transcending the status quo, using his poetry as a vehicle to speak out about his experiences and ideas surrounding overlooked yet socially pervasive issues such as addiction, racism, abandonment, perilous consumerism, and the lack of satisfying basic human needs Not only does Strainj Poetry speak in rhythm and verse, but also he has self-published his own book ‘Listen With Your Eyes’.
