From August 17–19, the beat of the globe comes to the heart of Toronto, as Small World Music takes the 17th edition of its annual festival to the waterfront. The event is co-produced with Harbourfront Centre and supported by TD Bank.
Small World Music’s signature program is renowned for its eclectic mix of artists from around the globe and around the corner, representing the state-of-the-art in global sounds. This year’s Small World Music Festival celebrates the 30th anniversary of WOMAD – World of Music, Art and Dance festival, which took place at the same venue over a three-year stint. Three decades on, we explore this legacy and how it resonates in multicultural 21st-century Toronto.
Programming will feature the high-quality, genre-busting presentations that the Small World Music Festival is known for, with artists from South Asian, Iranian, Latin American, North African, Afro-Caribbean and other backgrounds.
