Based in Atlanta, Skyland Trail is a nationally recognized nonprofit mental health treatment organization serving adults ages 18 and older. One of the nation’s top mental health treatment centers, Skyland Trail offers expert, evidence-based psychiatric care alongside a compassionate, holistic path to wellness. This powerful mix makes Skyland Trail a different kind of mental health solution.
While each recovery plan is tailored to the individual, each client at Skyland Trail is assigned to one of five recovery communities. Each recovery community is a primary support system of 10 to 15 clients, usually with similar diagnoses. Each recovery community is led by a primary counselor and a dedicated team of therapists who are specialists in their field.
Skyland Trail offers periodic workshops and lectures to share best practices and new research with mental health professionals. Continuing education credits are available for many of the sessions. We also host interactive education opportunities for the larger community to learn more about mental health issues and reduce the stigma of mental illness.
Our adjunctive therapies -- horticulture, art, music, recreation, and social enrichment -- are acclaimed as breakthroughs in engaging clients in recovery. Led by caring professionals who are experts in their fields, adjunctive group sessions help clients find new ways to express their thoughts and emotions, learn new skills, build confidence, and interact with their peers and the community.
Our caring staff of psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed clinicians, and master's degreed professionals is the bedrock of our successful programs. The quality and collaboration of our treatment team is a hallmark of Skyland Trail.
