There a lot of different types of TV mounts out there. So how do you find the right TV mount for your needs?
DIY expert Matt Muenster and Natalie Nyhus are here to share how to pick a TV mount that fits your TV, room setup and viewing needs.
Here's what you need to know. There are three main types of TV wall mounts:
1. Full Motion TV Mounts (also called Articulating TV Mounts or Swivel TV Mounts)
2. Tilting TV Mounts
3. Fixed Position TV Mounts
Full Motion TV Mounts:
The Full Motion Mount gives you the most viewing options. With a full motion mount, you can extend your TV from the wall, swivel your TV left and right and tilt your TV downward. Full motion mounts are ideal if you have multiple areas in a room where you want to be able to view your TV or if you have an open concept floor plan and would like to be able to view your TV from multiple rooms.
Tilting TV Mount:
A tilting TV mount works well if you need to mount your TV above eye level -- like above a fireplace or piece of furniture. A tilting TV mount also helps eliminate TV glare from indoor and outdoor light sources.
Fixed Position TV Mount:
A fixed position mount works best when your TV can be positioned at eye level, and your TV is directly across from your main seating area.
