Ryan Keen supports the Kids in Afghanistan with his new song,
„Skin and Bones"
He belongs to the new generation of intrepid singer --songwriters: the british
exception to the rule, Ryan Keen, has created a stir of postive reactions amongst both critic and public alike with his debut album, „Room For Light."
With this new video, the passionate surfer and skater aims to create some attention for the situation of kids in Afghanistan. The video shot in Kabul for his new single, „Skin and Bones," takes a very personal look at daily life there. „ It doesn´t help anyone to only show the dark side of Kabul. There is really also a certain spirit of optimism, and thats what I would like to show and support with my video," says Ryan.
„We are more than ‚Skin and bones, surrounded by the cold,' as my song says. We are
people with needs and desires for things such as freedom and security, and thats what
this is about"
The footage has been shot by Jochen Zimmermann and Yannick Bonica in Kabul as part of a bigger film project about culture in Afghanistan. This video is dedicated to the people working for the Skateistan organisation, who contribute to some hope and happiness of the youth in Afghanistan via their skateboard initiative. The song is also dedicated to the brave Graffiti Girls, artists from the organisation Berang in Kabul, who risk their lives every time they speak out loudly and openly against suppression through the war and terror that has destroyed their country.
