I-494 from Minnetonka to Maple Grove is undergoing major renovations. Nevertheless we are doing our best to minimize the traffic impacts and keep the road open during construction. We are able to keep the road partially open by using five miles of moveable barriers. The barriers are moved after the morning and evening rush hours.
And a shout out to the brave workers riding that platform. It takes more than a little nerve to be driving a million dollar contraption between all those lanes of rushing traffic.
Toward Zero Deaths is a inter-agency program that strives to eliminate traffic fatalities and serious injuries from Minnesota roads. The agencies involved are the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the Minnesota Department of Public Saftey and the Minnesota Department of Health as well as partners and organizations from around the state.
