As part of the Raising Blended Learners demonstration initiative, teams representing 10 finalist schools and districts attended a workshop in February to receive professional assistance in further refining their blended learning plans. Five winners, to be announced as demonstration sites in April, will each receive up to $500,000 in grants and technical implementation support for three years.
Leaders matter. You are critical to growing teachers and students, caring for the future of Texas, and advancing public education every day. You are the linchpin of innovation in Texas schools. We know how important your job is. We see the work you do. That’s why we invest in you.
February 4-6, we hosted the 7th Annual Raise Your Hand Texas Leadership Symposium. Past attendees have reported this conference as the best professional development they receive all year. In correspondence with the legislative session, we hosted the Symposium in Austin and included advocacy elements to complement the instructional leadership and marketing sessions. We will do this every other year and it will be known as the “Campus to Capitol Conference.” School leaders need to understand how the legislative process works and how to be strong advocates for public schools at the state level.
