ProCon.org and the March of Dimes Canada held a celebrity golf tournament on March 2, 2013 at the Desert Dunes Golf Club in Desert Hot Springs, California to raise money for our nonprofit organizations.
The charity fundraiser event was hosted by the Canada California Business Council. Included among the golfers were former NHL players Marty McSorley and Cale Hulse, former MLB player Royce Clayton, senior golf pro Steve Pate, actors: George Lopez, Anthony Anderson, Craig T. Nelson, Gena Lee Nolin, Sheila Shah, Kate Linder, Jack McGee, Fred 'Hammer' Williamson, Stephen Bishop, Jeremy Sumpter, director and writer Nick Cassavetes, KTLA host Wendy Burch, and Kato Kaelin.
The golf event capped off a full weekend of events, beginning with a cocktail reception at the Elvis Presley honeymoon estate on Thursday, February 28, a business luncheon and VIP Reception on Friday, March 1, and ending with the golf tournament itself on Saturday, March 2.

A panel of prominent film celebrities and education leaders judged 1-2 minute student videos on the theme "Why I Love ProCon.org," and selected seven lucky winners in the ProCon.org national student video contest.
First place ($400), second place ($200), and third place ($100) winners were selected in three categories: middle school (grades 6-8), high school (grades 9-12), and college/university (undergraduate and graduate) students. There were not enough eligible entries in the middle school category for 2nd or 3rd place winners. All winners received ProCon.org merchandise for their schools.
Judges Each of seven judges completed a scoring sheet, and all scores were combined to determine overall winners. The seven judges were (in alphabetical order):
Jeff Harris, CEO of the Junior Statesmen of America (JSA) Foundation, has directed 14 sessions of JSA summer schools at prestigious universities including Stanford, Princeton, and Georgetown. He's also a board member of the California Association of Student Councils. www.jsa.org
