Welcome to the gender-playful sketch comedy duo “Pretty Things”! Filmmaker/comedian Michael Lucid and actor/musician Amanda Barrett from the band The Ditty Bops co-produced and co-starred in “Pretty Things” on cable access TV across the US starting in 2002, also screening in film festivals like Outfest and Slamdance, where it won the Online Audience Award in 2004. By 2005, “Pretty Things” was added to Youtube as individual stand-alone sketches. Now for the first time, the entire “Pretty Things” series in its original cable access 25-minute format will be viewable on YouTube, starting with Episode 1 of Season 2, presented here! A new episode will be posted online each Sunday night; be sure to subscribe to the “Pretty Things” YouTube channel for all updates and episodes, and happy watching!
These four sketches are about people's various social psychodramas, from friendly coffee dates to a high-stakes dance interview and an emotionally-charged massage session.
"Feedback" and "Processing" were made for the Slamdance Film Festival's annual $99 Special program, in which a few filmmakers are given $99 each to make a short. "The Masseur" and the "All The Right Moves" parody are sketches made for The WOW Report blog.
