I've been very proud to work so closely with The Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Not only do they host the widest variety of music from around the world, but they are effectively active in the community, engaging the arts and bringing communities together. The Cedar is responsible for spearheading Midnimo (the Somali word for unity), a program that features Somali artists from Minnesota and around the world in residencies and events that increase understanding of Somali culture through music. Midnimo is reviving and preserving Somalia’s rich musical traditions while fostering social connections between generations and cultures in the heart of the largest Somali diaspora in North America. As the primary videographer for this amazing program I've been fortunate enough to work closely with residency artists as Midnimo engages Minneapolis and greater Minnesota.
