The Peaceworks Program is an exciting new interactive online course using the Indie Learning Management System.
We hope that every middle school and high school student will have the opportunity to experience and benefit from this groundbreaking program designed to teach kids to use their own hearts and minds to reflect on themselves and their place in the world, and to support them in learning to make choices that are good for them and the communities they live in.
The curriculum combines engaging teaching, compelling documentary film footage and video game playing rewards to encourage students to use and expand their critical thinking skills and to focus on positive values such as compassion, diversity, equity, inclusion, social justice and peace. The program may be especially helpful for young people with aggression issues.
Our goal is to teach kids how to better navigate their way through some of the issues that many teens and preteens face such as bullying, stress, negative body image, substance abuse, peer pressure, mental/physical health and many more.
Students will be able to work their way through the program at their own pace using any personal computer or smart phone but we highly recommend having a mentor sit in with them if possible to discuss what they're learning. There are 100 lessons in the program which is about 25 hours of online material. Upon completion of the course you'll receive a detailed progress report along with a graduation certificate. Including The Peaceworks Program on an application or resume is a great way to demonstrate to a potential college or employer that there's more to them than just their grades! The program is available to parents around the world and we'll be providing a discounted rate for police departments/courts and schools/school boards that are enrolling multiple students.
