Cath Manuel

  • I'm so sorry, I just noticed that I didn't reply to your message Gary. It depends on your location as to when to divide. As I'm in a subtropical climate I would divide late Autumn and then again very early Spring as we have a short and mild winter. If you winters are very cold wait until the temps rise and new growth will occur. Happy growing, Cath.

  • Hi Jay, thanks for your comment. yes I'm in Aus and love it here !! I've heard and read many views on Comfrey use internally and I consume small quantities of it through cooking, just small leaves. I haven't come across any reports of the toxins through soil into plants, only the effects in excessive consumption on liver. Comfrey contains many elements beneficial to soil health, so is recommended as soil improver, along with other organic matter. That's why I use it. Happy gardening, Cath.
