One of our greatest strengths of a democracy is that when we are headed in the wrong direction, we the people, can correct our course. When our leaders make mistakes, we can hold them accountable, even if they never admit their mistakes.
For 4 years running, poll after poll has given us one important fact - that the majority of Kenyans believe our country is headed in the wrong direction. The big issues of our day are Corruption, Cost of Living, our Cohesion and State of the Nation, the Crippling debt which is wiping away our future. Kenyas future is made up of millions of young people whose growing hopelessness is because of a rigged system that denies them a fair opportunity.
With 21 days to Nane Nane, we have to ask, What is this election about. What kind of Kenya do we want for ourselves and our children. Do we want the next 5 years to be like the last 4. Is the role of government to concentrate wealth and power in the hands of a few or allow every citizen a chance to participate.
Here is the truth countrymen. Kenya is in trouble. We need to save our country. You and I have a date with destiny. This election is our big chance to change course.
I am a friend who will stand by you. My word is my bond. I have a deep patriotism that goes far beyond words. I would like to devote the remaining part of my journey to making Kenya a better place for all of us. And for those who will come after us.
A Kenya for All Kenyans. Kenya ni Yangu. Kenya ni Yetu. Kenya ni Kwetu.
That is and must always be the Kenyan dream.
