Alexei is an 11 yr old boy living in an orphanage in Russia. He was responsible for finding his own food and clothes since he was 4 yrs. old. He was often found wandering the streets begging for food. When he was 7 yrs. old he was found sleeping on the stairs of a school house; starving and cold. Authorities tried to take him home only to find his mother was gone. She never returned. She never came looking for him. Later authorities found her living in another town. They issued her a notice to appear in court if she wanted to ever see Alexei again. In February 2006 Alexei, the judge, and the social workers sat in court and waited for Alexei's mom to show. Alexei stared at the door for a long time hoping his mother would come through those doors, embrace him, and take him with her. She never came, those doors never opened; he was all alone and on his own at age 7. He was officially an orphan. Life in the orphanage was better than what he was used to. He was fed food twice a day consisting of oatmeal and soup. He was given an outfit to wear that he shared with everyone in the orphanage who also could wear that size. He was allowed to take a cold shower and change his outfit once a week. To him life was more comfortable but, he wanted more. In April of 2007 a lady came and wanted to take a video of him and ask him questions. He was nervous but he had heard that this lady might be able to help him find a mom and dad in America. He really wanted someone to love him, so he sucked up his nerves, held back the tears, and tried to smile. At the end of the dvd the kind lady asked him what his one wish for the future was. He wiped the tears from his eyes and quietly said, A mama and a papa.

You can help his one wish for the future come true through prayer, by helping to spread the word, or if you can find it in yourself to donate, even the smallest amount will help. The total cost of Alexei's adoption is just over $50,000. We have paid $35,000 of that and have tapped out all our resources and need to raise the other $15,000 to make Alexei's dream come true. If you have the ability and want to take part in giving this child the loving family he deserves or if you want to read about Alexei's journey to America; you can do so by going here:
