Welcome to the Vanessa Brantley Newton Channel WVBN.  Here I like to share a bit of myself in song and the songs that inspire. I am a self-taught illustrator, who studied fashion and children's book illustration at FIT and the School of Visual Arts in New York. I love all things old and retro and it finds its way into my heart, my home, my music and my artwork. I am the author and illustrator of Let Freedom Sing and Don't Let Auntie Mabel Bless the Table, both published by Blue Apple Books. I have forthcoming books from Random House, Lee and Low, Penguin, Disney, and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. With the help of my family and friends, I Recently  became the WINNER of the We TV Mary Mary Spotlight Singing Contest!  I  make my nest in Charlotte, NC with my husband of 20 years, our  daughter, and a very rambunctious cat named Stripes. Thank you for tuning in, See next time!
