The Murrell Home is the 1845 plantation home of George Murrell, a native Virginian, and his wife Minerva (Ross) Murrell, the niece of Cherokee Principal Chief John Ross.  The home is now an historic house museum and living history site, owned and operated by the Oklahoma Historical Society.  It is a National Historic Landmark and a National Trail of Tears site.  It is located in northeast Oklahoma, 3 miles south of Tahlequah.
