Whenever we travel, tour, or perform, our home, friends, and family, are always close to our hearts.
Kurt wrote words to the tune of "I'll See You in My Dreams" when the Wood Colony issues were so heated this past spring and sang it to the Modesto City Council.
This is a clip from the Arizona Banjo and Ukulele Blast in Tucson, Arizona. Before he sang, he gave a summary of what had happened in Modesto, Wood Colony, and the aftermath of the vote of the council.
When the concert was over that evening in Arizona, approximately 15% of the attendees came up to Kurt and told him that they'd heard about Wood Colony, and what was going on here. Many more talked with me throughout the rest of the weekend about the tune, the situation, and the potential devastation of a freeway through Wood Colony.
It made me think about the online petition that I'd started on December 29, 2013, and how it was not given much recognition by those who should have been paying attention to what the world thinks, and those who are "watching" Modesto, and its politics.
They may not be able to vote for local office holders, but those who are in outlying areas do have an impact on the jobs that may, or could have, come to Modesto and Stanislaus County.
