Julian Hand

Julian Hand is a filmmaker and visual artist exploring liminal, forgotten, and abandoned spaces. Using experimental film techniques, analogue and digital media, and immersive light projections, he reveals unseen dimensions of place and time.

Born in Corby, Northamptonshire, Julian’s journey began in graphic design before expanding into lens-based media. He holds a BA from Camberwell College of the Arts and an MA from Norwich University of the Arts.

His work fuses cine-film, video, and light projection across experimental films, music videos, installations, and live performances. Collaborating with musicians like Demian Castellanos and The Oscillation since 2005, he has created music videos and toured with hypnotic visual projections.

Julian’s films have been showcased in galleries and festivals worldwide. Pushing creative boundaries, he blends analogue and digital techniques to craft immersive, transportive experiences beyond the ordinary.
