Liner Notes: Such a great gig. I regret not miking the crowd-—had I known they were going to be singing so much, so well, and so loud, I would have been more prepared. Won’t make that mistake again. :) So the only crowd noise you’re hearing is bleed from our vocal mics, which doesn’t do it justice. During the performance, I got chills when I sang the line, “I hope some day you’ll join us”, because it truly was “us” at that moment, because I wasn’t singing alone.
It was a joy to get to sing so many great songs by so many great British artists while in London, with this song being no exception.
Being an American duo playing a gig in a small venue in Europe, of course my thoughts turned to the recent Paris attacks. And Brussels had just happened less than two weeks prior. Beyond that context, I’ll let my onstage comments speak for themselves. But know this: I will delete any comments on this video that preach anything other than peace.
Thanks to Stuart and the rest at 229 the Venue for being great hosts.
Thanks to our videographer, Josh Bamber, with Silvertip Films. http://www.silvertipfilms.c...
I edited the video myself in FCP X (still figuring it out!).
