CentraCare Health is a not-for-profit health care system that provides comprehensive high-quality care throughout their 46 locations in Minnesota. As the health care organization continues to grow, so does their need to print and distribute documents to support that growth. 5 years ago, CentraCare partnered with Marco to implement a Managed Print Services program to help them become more efficient and reduce their print costs. Marco’s proposal was superior which certainly figured into our decision to select Marco. But, I would say equal to that or even more importantly than that is Marco was already a long standing trusted partner for CentraCare health. We knew we weren’t taking a risk when it came to the relationship with Marco. Marco seamlessly joined with them to assess their operations and make the same improvement recommendations as in their other locations. The prices that were quoted by Marco was certainly a factor and in evaluating the proposals but also the process. The needs assessment process that Marco had detailed as well as the ongoing plan, the multi-faced plan that was defined really made sense and was a good fit for our organization. Last year alone, Marco was able to help CentraCare reduce their fleet by 89 devices and also reduce their costs over the 5 year program. Today, CentraCare has approximately 500 HP and 200 multi-function devices. We are continuing to save in the neighborhood of $350,000-400,000 a year. Over and above what we would’ve spent back in the days of trying to operate our own system without the assistance of Marco. With the health care industry, comes the need for confidentiality. Marco implemented PaperCut. The software solution that not only helps reduce print costs, but requires scanning of the employee identification card to release a print job. This solution eased their concerns about having a print job of a confidential nature printed automatically and accessible to anyone near the printer. I just learned that in fiscal 13, we saved over $65,000 in print jobs that were sent to devices but never printed. I work with a lot of vendors and to have an opportunity to experience service levels of varying natures, and I can tell you Marco is head and shoulders above most, if not all.
