This video was a collaboration between Matt Thompson, a camera, and me. I wanted to give you guys something sweet and simple and try to go outside of the norm when it comes to most dance videos you see online. We decided to shoot it as if it were from your perspective and I am dancing for you, the viewer. My inspiration came from the sweetness and simplicity of this song and hearing a story of a girl who loves a boy so much that time and history can be rewritten by them. That they choose their own destiny and choose to love each other so much they get lost in their own world together first and foremost. That no matter where they are and what happens, they always have their love carried around with them. In a world filled with a lot of hurt and pain, I hope that this can bring some light into your life. That you can watch this video and think of the own loves in your life. And how sweet and simple and pure it is to love someone and be loved in turn.
Thank you to Regina Spektor for creating a song I've loved for a long time. I hope to bring justice to your beautiful story telling ability through music and lyrics combined with my movement and visuals.
Thank you to Matt Thompson for brainstorming with me on how to make this simple but still visually stimulating idea come to life. You are my best friend and lover and I am honored that you would devote your time and talents to help make my dreams and goals a reality. There's no one else I'd want behind the camera and to think of while I'm looking into the lens on this project besides you. You are MY sweetest downfall and I love you first.
