• Cat Tales from Singapore: Cozying up with a lovely black cat

    164 views 1 year ago
Some cats don't like having their paws handled, but Crooktail doesn't mind. She's rolling around on the ground while Mum and I play with her paws. When she's had enough, she puts her paw against my hand to signal "stop".

Featuring Crooktail, a community cat who is shy around people she doesn't know, but extremely affectionate to those who show kindness to her. Each time I walk past her bush, she'll come running out to greet me regardless whether I have food.

I take and share these videos in hopes of showing my viewers that street cats / stray cats too can be friendly and adorable and they deserve our love. Please like and comment if you agree, and please excuse the amateur quality. Thanks for watching!

See that tipped ear? That's the sign of a cat that's been sterilised and returned to its outdoor home where it's usually cared for by a caregiver. Sterilising your street cats is a humane way of controlling the cat population, improving the cat's quality of life and prevents the death of countless kittens who rarely survive on the streets.

Fuzzy was a kitten when I first met her and her siblings in my neighbourhood. She was a stray, but well-cared for and loved by community feeders and cat-loving neighbours. Unfortunately, her playful and brash nature got her into all sorts of trouble. In a span of 2 years, I sent her to a vet twice for injuries made worst by her incessant licking. The bills were hefty but my neighbours were helpful. On the 2nd occasion, her wound was so bad that the vet advised that she be kept indoors. After a one month stay at a boarding house, I brought her home and she decided she wanted to stay. She has been an indoor cat since, and nothing but a source of joy and happiness for my family!

Antics of community cats in my estate! These little guys may be referred to as "strays" by the layman, but in fact, home is in our neighbourhood estate, where they are cared for and spayed by caregivers like myself and my cat-loving neighbours. I make these videos to show that community cats / strays are just as lovable as pet cats, and I hope to inspire more people will notice them and care about them.
