Koothambalam - School of natya

Koothambalam established in 1966 @ Chennai & relocated to Coimbatore in 1995. Founder Natyacharya Guru late S.Aravindan, an alumnus of Rukmini Devi’s Kalakshetra.He was a dancer,teacher,choreographer,nattuvanar & lyricist. He was the recipient of the titles Natya Kala Thilakam,Natya Kala Rathnam,Nalladal Nanmani,Kavi,Natana Kulapathy & Natyacharya.
 His wife & disciple Kala Aacharya Smt.Vasantha Aravindan is the director of this prestigious institution.In recognition of her ability as a dancer,teacher,choreographer,nattuvanar & lyricist.She has been awarded the titles Kalai magal & Kala Aacharya. She has been to abroad to conduct Natya workshops. 
 Their daughter Saathvika Aravindan, a versatile Bharathanatyam & Mohiniyattam dancer is giving scientific training in both styles. She has got selection under the young talent promotion scheme of Tamil Nadu Iyal Isai Nadaga Mandram. She is a dancer,teacher,choreographer,nattuvanar,lyricist & Joint director of this institution.
