"Why are we here? What are we doing? What is all this for?" This film will challenge you to look inside of yourself to learn and grow. The film is reflective of the universal questions and soul searching we all go through in life and gives an inside look at the creative process of an artist finding himself and shifting from "nowhere" to "NOW-HERE". It is the story of award winning musician Johnathan Fleig at the lowest point in his life, working through struggles with career, marriage, friends and the death of his father, all at the same time. It is about something we all go through in life, when you reach a crossroads where the things you used to do and think don’t work anymore. When everything falls apart and you try to make sense of the pieces. When powerful questions plague your mind and answers don’t seem to be forth-coming... and then... your breakdown turns into a breakthrough. The music and inspired story telling provide an inside look at the creative process of an artist growing and overcoming struggles. The songs get into the depth of the words and interviews, taking you home, giving you time to reflect on the crossroads you have faced in your own life. Jonathan seems to find a silver lining in every cloud.
Filmed in cooperation with nature, the soundtrack was recorded live and outside in 8 beautiful locations all over Kansas. The soundtrack is also recently released as a CD. http://www.jonathanfleig.com/
Created by Brian D. Hardin on a shoestring budget, the film is proof that good story telling does not have to cost a lot of money,it just needs creativity and passion.
The film was created by believing in 4 simple principles...
(1)"Believe in magic... and it will happen."
(2)"Don't judge yourself or judge others... just do your best."
(3)"Everything is PERFECT... even when it is not!"
(4)"It's about believing in yourself and the joy you want to share." "Road To Nowhere" invites the listener into a wildfire of mutual understanding. And Jonathan Fleig wholly captures the spark in the lyrics from his new song, "Traveling" :
"You can barely see your feet on the road you are traveling
Wasting all your time, looking for a sign that never comes
Asking how and why, to every passerby you encounter
Only to find that no one's any lighter than you are
But you are living..."
In 2010, Jonathan formed the band, Soup. Their album, The Great Awakening, proved to be the compelling musical stew of a searching soul: The 21st L.A. Music Awards nominated Jonathan for "Best Americana Artist" (Soup) and "Americana Song Of The Year" (Enemy). Road To Nowhere finds Jonathan Fleig in his element, painting a sensory emotional experience on a canvass of music and film. The characters that inform who his is are the same ones that fictionalize all of us. They are the players of life. And they are not content with accepting that the road leads to nowhere. Rather, they marvel in the reality that the journey leads to the moment - to the fellowship of the Now Here. "I believe that true and lasting revolution begins with the self," says Jonathan. "Less and less I feel the need to convince or persuade anybody to see the world as I see it. I share. You take what you want from that sharing."http://www.RoadToNowHereFil...http://www.jonathanfleig.com
